You shouldn't feel pain during the extraction itself. We numb the area thoroughly with local anesthetic, so most people feel pressure rather than pain. Some soreness afterward is normal. If you're nervous, just tell us, and we'll take things slowly.
Bite gently on gauze to help a blood clot form, then protect that clot. For a few days, avoid straws, smoking, and spitting, since each can pull the clot loose and cause a painful problem called dry socket. Stick to soft foods while the area heals, and call us with any questions.
